While I agree that you don't have to spend $200 (or more) to get pictures of deer, etc. Having the scoutguard has made getting photos more fun. I have really enjoyed (and so do my kids and friends) the video feature on it, and plan on using it more often. While the IR light isn't quite as bright in photo mode as a flash (and the pictures are black and white) I don't believe that this buck would have stayed where he did for over 10 minutes if a flash had been going.
