Default RE: Proud Owner - Parker Ultra-Lite 31

Well, I finally got a slow point in my oh so busy life. I' m going to try to give a thorough review.

Initial Setup
Parker' s Outfitter packaged bows come the factory with all accessories on the bow.

Paper-tuning Really tough! I don' t know if it' s the Wisker Bisquit yet or not, but the arrow is still kickin down a bit........ I' m not comfortable with the tuning yet. It still needs alot of work.

Draw length modules
Easy to install and parker offers a wide variety of draw lengths. I know i shoot a 26" draw, and they do offer short modules.

FPS
Approx 257fps through chrono. Beman ICS 400, 26" , 100gr, 4" helicle.

Recoil
This bow has a nice (not the good nice) recoil. I found a simple 4" doinker stabilizer solved alot of this problem

Noise
Set up with LimbSavers, String silencers, and the Doinker, it is whisper quiet! The majority of the noise comes from the darn rubber tube for the peep site!

Group Tuning
Not extremely concerned about getting bullet-holes, i decided i' d try to start group tuning. This bow can throw some great groups. HOWEVER, short axle to axle (31" ), and a brace height on the smaller side (7" ), does NOT seem allow for errors in shooting form. It seems to greatly magnify changes in form and technique. Any minor change and you' ll get the infamous " flyer" from your group.

Wisker Bisquit
The first day I shot the bow, I' d get a few shots out of an arrow and at least one fletching would fall off. I believe it was the person who actually fletched them, because i had them redone with an arrow wrap underneath and they seem to be holding up now. Only other thing i see, is that rest seems to be marking up the edges of the fletchings that will probably lead to torn and misshaped veins.

This rest seemed impossibe to paper-tune! Neither myself or 2 different proshop owners could get this thing to tune well. Doesn' t seem to matter what we do(move the nock or the rest), the arrow always kicks down. We also tried adjusting the draw weight (that' s a whole other section).

Issues
-Paper tuning (for not being extremely worried about it, i' ve mentioned it alot)

-Draw Weight
*Adjusting the draw weight seems to work inversly against logic.

*Initially I had the draw weight set at #70, decided that
since my arm was getting tired relativly quickly I' d take it down to
#65.

*When i did this, the bow shot consistantly high... (beat me why this
is happening!)

-Arrow Flight
*Arrows seem to be kicking a bit. I really can' t tell in what direction
but i will be video taping it this weekend so i can watch it a bit more
closely. Probably due to the tuning issue.

Conclusion
Over all I love the feel of the bow. It' s very smoothe and comfortable to shoot there are minor issues right now but maybe with some good help or suggestions, i can get this thing perfect. With these small issues taken care of, i would say it' s one BAD A$$ bow! Check a Parker out the next time your at the ProShop and see what you think. So far I' m happy with my purchase and would rate the bow a 7.5-8 out of 10! Soon enough, i' ll have it set to be a perfect 10. Believe me, my scoring is not an exact science! LOL

Request for comments and suggestions
If you have any questions, comments and/or suggestions for getting this bow set up correctly, let me know. I' m starting to run out of ideas.

Also: How do you know if your arrows are spined correctly? I' m sure it' s somewhere in the board, I' m just too lazy to do a search on it.
