Default RE: Your history of"non-abdominal cavity" hits recovered

My first bow deer. I was sitting in an ackward stand and couldn't turn my body. I reached out..... NO good for form and shot. I pulled the shot and I sent the arrow through guts and heard a loud crack. The deer ran back the way he came....... grunting like a pig. I heard him crash. I still gave him an hour and went to look. He went 60yds and piled up. When I cut him up I found that the arrow smashed his offside leg. Cutting the artery.

I have also hit guts on another 2 deer. I knew I hit guts and waited them out. One I went back in 3hrs and the other I gave overnight. Both were found dead.

I have yet to loose a deer shot with archery equipment. Out of 41 deer I've lost one...... which would make 42. That was with a muzzleloader and I hit liver. I went in too early and kept kicking it up............ thats where I learned my lesson. WHEN IN DOUBT, GET THE HELL OUT. Give them time and you will find them
