We don't bother digging a hole. we just find a depression in the soil, scratch it up with a rake,and fill the hole with 30-06 mineral supplement. I am looking for a recipe that we can use to mix with the storebought stuff, as it sure does draw them in. We let it run low in the fall and replenish it in the late winter.
