Default RE: 50 Cal Conical for Colorado?

I switched to the new Hornady FPB conical and had great luck on elk with them. However, with the plastic tip in place, they are too long to be legal for Colorado. So I cut them off flush with the front end of the metal and they still fly great and are legal! 3 inch groups at 100 yards with open sights. And they performed great on the elk as well.

Bullshop, no excuses, and maxiballs are good as well if your gun will shoot them. IMO the powerbelts would be my last choice. If you use them, be sure and don't use over 100 grains of black powder equivalent. Push them too hard and they come apart.
