Entry hole was dime sized and the exit was the size of a quarter. I butchered the deer myself and saw the holes from the outside and the inside. the heart was like hamberger on the top and the lungs were blown to pieces. As for the blood out of the nose it didn't get the first bit bloody till I started dragging him.

I don't know what the deal was with the bleeding.
That's very weird. I shot a doe today with the .243 and she was gushing blood. And my .243 leaves about a dime size hole exit and entry.

My guess is that when the bullet hit the hide, it went through but the hide kinda folded back into its original position, blocking off the blood. A way to understand what I am saying is to take something flexible,and poke ahole in it.It will partially go back to its original position. That's my last guess. I don't know anything else that could of happened.
