RE: A hunting story everyone can learn from.
One time I was pheasant hunting along some fence rows near a small cattail swamp. My dog, a GSP, ran off into a guy's brushy back yard and was pointing into a bush near a fire wood pile. I tried calling her back to no avail. Not even the magic swear words were working! [:-]As I angrily walked up to grab the dog, a huge buck jumped up out of the bush and took off! I almost had a heart attack. We were quite aways from the main woods which surprised me. I stood in the bucks bed and found that he had 360 degree viewing and could spot danger from any direction. Pretty smart, bedding in someones back yard while all the hunters were in the woods. That's when I started hunting fence rows and out of the way places.
