Default RE: Silencing a speed bow.

ok, to get to the first point mentioned in the thread here, I went from a tomkat 60# to a 82nd at 60#.
Both have the MeanV supressor installed. And the tomkat makes spitting like sound where as the 82nd sounds more like a hamer that hits a wooden board.
I'm shooting 400gr arrows with 125gr tips and I left the standard stopper on, I just replaced the rubber with a bowjax model.
At first the 82nd made his typical noise and than I started fiddling with the space between the string and both the rubber stoppers. The best thing do to is ask some bystanders to check the noise, they have a better understanding and judgement then the one shooting the bow.
Since the MeanV hits the string first I left some space, the Bowjax stopper slightly touches the string with a little tension.
I tried shooting with and without the standard stopper but prefer them both on the bow....
My bow isn't all that loud anymore and she's still smokin' fast........
