If I might ask, Y the .223 since with that rifle you do have a wide variety of choices in caliber? Just wondering. Also if you haven't decidedwhat scope and your not looking to spend a whole lot might I suggest the one of the Simmons Whitetail Classics that are on sale at midway USA right now there are two. I just put the more expensive 6.5-20x50mm mil-dot reticle one on my coyote/deer/anything smaller than an elk rifle and it is real good. In fact it is the best value in any scope I have ever shot.
I just think it will be sufficient for what I need and I have been told that it is more fur friendly because of the lower velocity. I don't really plan on loading my own rounds right now so I wont be doing the AI conversion or anything like that. I guess if the shots are too far out I will just have to get better at calling em in!!
