Default RE: 7-08 ballistically equal to 30-06?

As much as I'm a solid 7mm diameter fan of bullets for deer, when you get above deer sized game, there's a big difference. In my opinion, the 7mm08 is quite possibly THE closest thing to a perfect deer cartridge for NORMAL hunting ranges as we'll ever see. It's when you get into bigger bullets and heavier game where the old 30-06 starts to shine as being the single best game round as far as being most versaitle allround, perfect for the 1 rifle man. Personally,I saw too much .30 caliber "stuff" years ago so I have no use for them,if a 7mm bullet is too small to get the job done,I step up to a .33 or .35 bullet cartridge.

I think ballistics are fine as a general guide but as far as killing power goes I defy anyone to tell me which cartridge was used by the reaction of game when shot. The 7-08 will do anything the 06 will.
