I just received a capture for my birthday the end of November. They don't really explain how the strap attaches. I poked a hole in the middle and put the screw through it with a washer. Is there a better way???? I couldn't think of one. Also, If I put it out now (December) how do you use pictures from this time of year to help your scouting?

Can't help with the strap issue but as far as putting out the camera now will help you determine the bucks in the area for shed hunting in the next few months.
