Default WI buck down on Thanksgiving Day!

Hey all:

Just wanted to share with you the great joy I had to take this 8 point buck on Thanksgiving morning in SW Wisconsin on my parent's farm. He and his brother (another 8 point bruiser) cruised by my tree stand about 8 am on Thanksgiving morning, and at about 100 yards, I put a bullet from my 1941 .300 Savage EG into him.(I was using factory 180grain Remington shells). He went about 30 yards away and there I found him! Me and my hunting buddy saw about 30 deer during the regular 9 day hunt and took 2 bucks and 3 does. So we saw plenty, but they say the harvest is down in WI overall by 20% or so. Anyway, we have meat in the freezer and this is the biggest buck I've ever shot, so I'm happy.

Thank the good Lord for land to hunt on and plenty of whitetails!

Enjoy! Good luck with you and yours and have a blessed Holiday season.

DeerDad
