We had a saying..."Some guys have 20 years of experience and
some guys have 1 year experience, 20 times"...
That really does ring true......
You would think that everyone would get better with more woods time.... But, that just doesn't happen.
I will use my step father and his brother as an example.....
They have 90 or so years hunting experience between the two of them and they put in a good amount of time every year..... Neither one has ever shot a mature buck bow or gun. In fact neither have ever shot a 100+ inch buck.
Both are outstanding carpenters though, well above average. Two of the best I have ever "met".
Some people just get things.... While others don't. They get carpentry, butsetting upon deer, they don't "get it".
They always tell me how lucky I am that I consistantly kill nice bucks..... It isn't luck, I don't bother to try to explain it anymore.
