My taxi that's doing the euro mount for me uses a micrometer to measure tooth wear.....and references his measurements against a "std" chart (realizing that it's not an 'absolute' science).

Is this std. operating procedure? Kinda more scientific than I thought it might be....in watching him do the measurements.
