RE: 150 or 100 grains of powder?
Terminal velocity at the deer is the concern.A hot-loaded PB may fragment upon impact witha deer at 40 yds, but may perform perfectly on a deer at 150 yds. Problem is, you don't know how far your shots at game will be, so you need a bullet that works well at all a range of velocities/ranges.
Hornady claims their FPB does this, though I can only vouch for 2 shots, 80 yds and about 40 yds. Complete pass-throughs, which is what I want. The bullet seems to be plenty strong.
