Default RE: Washington state elk hunt help?

Both Eastern and Western Washington - Early Archery Elk September 8 to September 21 [both dates inclusive]. Late Archery Elk Eastern Washington-November 20 to December 8. Western Washington- November 19 to December 15.

Some areas GMU' s [Game Management Units] are Any Elk, some areas 3 point minimum or antlerless. Some units 3 point minimum, and others Spike Bulls or Antlerless.

You will need a license and tag for private land, however Indian Reservations have their own licensing system and generally they do not allow the ' White Man' to hunt on their land.

There are four different license tag combinations you can get and they range from Deer+Elk+Cougar+Bear [resident 72.27 non-resident 722.70] to Deer+Elk [resident 39.42 non-resident 394.20].

You can go to their website and download the 2003 Big Game Hunting Seasons and Rules for 2003. It is an Adobe PDF File and if you click on hunting the download icon is in the left frame page. I strongly recommend that you download and read this pamphlet. I cannot possibly give you all the variations that you need.

Licenses and tags can only be purchased from their website or from a business that is licensed to sell them. I have no idea how many hoops a non-resident needs to jump through to secure the licenses and tags but I suspect it is not hard.

The bag limit for elk is 1 (One), Deer is 1 (One). For Bear and Cougar a second tag may also be purchased [resident 5.00 non-resident 109.50]. In areas where one myst apply for a Special Permit; and the Applications are[resident 5.00 or non-resident 50.00] and you must be drawn for these special permits.

There is a lot more you need to know.
