Default RE: Biggest known Buck killed in YOUR area ?

ORIGINAL: davidmil

I didn't see it, but a guy I went to school with, who's a hunter and quite reliable says he saw it. This past weekend a guy shot his first deer of his life... EVER. He saw the deer and the weight certification from a certified scale. The deer was a 17 point(don't know specifics of the rack beyond that except it was big). The important thing, the deer FIELD DRESSED at 286 pounds. He said the butt was so wide it looked like a cow. 286 is about 100 pounds more than what we call a great deer here.. This one was about 10 miles from my house.
This buck was killed on my Dads land, he dressed out287lbs but onlyscored in the high 140's ):.........
