I'll do a spin off of a post above. If you have one hung up on the other side of a creek that won't fly over do your best to make him love sick. Fire that bird up with some excited yelps and cutts. Really pour it on him and make him gobble till he's dizzy. Then just shut up. It will be hard when he's on the other side gobbling and spitting and drumming. 9 out of 10 times he will shut up too after a few minutes. Scratch in the leaves and you can just about bet if he wants it bad enough he will fly over. I've done this numerous times. Matter of fact I did it this year and called all three of them across the creek. I would say between the 3 of them they gobbled over 500 times from the roost to where they pitched down to the creek bank before I got them across. It was my best hunt in 11 yrs. of hunting turkeys.
