A few years ago I did a european mount. I put it in my back yard on the ground and covered it with a huge tin can and then put a 30lb rock on top of the can to prevent dogs from getting in. I came back three month later and it was as clean as a whistle and the color was really natural too, not bleeched like some i've seen.
