They are completely safe. I got one right before we started videoing all our hunts. Not practical for me as the hunter now, because of the need to have someone right above me. But...they are comfortable as can be (too easy to fall asleep, lol), easy to transport, and with just a little bit of practice, shots can be taken on all sides of your tree.
