Well This one is for the books, I went out to the property I have been hunting this year (King Gorger/ Warsaw) to get stand out of the woods before the weather got to cold. I took my son with me knowing he wouldn't last but 2/3 hours at the most in that cold temps just to give him a taste of what its like. I didn't go about this trip like I would if I was going by myself we got up around 6am (not 4am) stop got some thing to eat on the way. I think we got there about 9am just some blazer orange on because of gun season and safety harness for the stand and crossbow . So we get to my stand 10am and get settle in and started the clock.I was thinking to myself lets see how long he can take it. 10.30 we hear some dogs off to the left a good ways away. I didn't think anything of it but 30 minutes later the woods came to life with the sound of something running in our direction at first I thought it was some dogs but there was no barking then I saw them a ridge over 4/5 deer,then my son saw them and he was speechless all he could do was look at me with eyes wide open. After I calmed him and myself down I loose them but I have seen this run before, I tell my son they should come right though here and in just that much time they are right on use now to stop them so I tell my son to start yelling. He looks at me a said what do I yell( I just about die right there ) I yelled stop and so did he. 3 blew by and two stopped and I took the first one at less then 15yds.She went about 30yds back and stop. this was not the plan. now I still have to go back and get the stand out of the woods.
