I always believed that the premise of bowhunting, be it with a longbow, compound or crossbow; was to meet the critter in their own enviroment and match wits with them. Trying to outsmart them and get as close as you can before shooting. It sure as hell isn't about having to kill something. Outsmarting a critter and getting within 30 or less yards is the real meaning to bow hunting!!!

If I wanted to shoot at 50plus yards I would use a center fire rifle. not a bow.
