I have had wonderful luck hunting around cedar trees and plum thickets in the rain. The deer sit tight and let you creep up to them as long as there is good cover to somewhat conceal yourself. They don't bust out as quickly while its rainy. The biggest buck I have ever taken was during a light rain and he was bedded in the middle of a plum thicket.I always still-hunt during a rain. I sit and watch crop fields before and after a storm. Best opportunity in my opinion is after.
you are right too.
i dont do any silent stalking like you anymore.
that is when you can get a nice buck, in heavy rain or snow.
but, most of hunters are SITTING NOW.
so, theyget wet and dont see much.
if the treehuggeers like us would do as you do, odds are you could get a nice buck in rain/snow but most just sit.
