ok not trying to hijack this thread but i just watched the video for the spot hogg whammy rest and a question arose
whats your opinion in regards t othe length of time a drop away arrow rest should stay up ???
i heard some say the sooner it drops away the better and others ofcourse sday the longer it stays in contact wit hthe arrow the better so lets hear what you all say ???
You want the rest to be up as long as possible and still clear the fletching. The more time the rest is in contact the more guidance provided by the rest.It is also important that the rest be as soft as possible(spring in the rest) so it doesn't adversely affect the flight of the arrow. The whammy does all of this.
This rest from Mathews seems to work on the same principles but not sure if it covers all the basis.
What this rest and the whammy does is attach to the upward moving string or cable so there is no pressure on the cams when at full draw, the cord will have slack in it.
