RE: Load for Bobcats with 22-250
I don't have the specific loads anymore, been 30 years since I had a 22-250 but recall goinga coupleways for cat's. First was a 45 grain Hornady SX bullet running around 3300,really creams a cat. Total disintegration, but took place well within the hide, didn't destroy the pelt. Don't push the 45 SX much faster or it won't make it to the target, has a very thin jacket, almost like heavy foil and vaporizes shortly after leaving the muzzle. Anotherround was a full house load with a 55 grain Hornady FMJ. Pencil sized hole in and out without tearing 'em up too bad. Again, no notes on powders/velocities but you can work up your own numbers. Not sure where you hunt, but here in WI, not many cats left and tags are hard to come by.
