Sproulman, I think coyotes are one of the biggest predators of deer in the woods in the springtime. I have seen leftovers from newborn fawns. I think they can scent a doe ready to birth and track her. I have (here it comes) heard of yotes pulling the partial birthed fawn right out of a doe. Can't say for sure, but i have seen em' chow down on fawns. I will kill a yote anywhere and anytime I see them. I off them year round, it is the only real hard and fun hunting left. I don't care how or they got here by........
we get a lot of coyotes each year.
here is my secret.
i take out a climbing stand and i get up only about 10 ft or so.
i make sure i am above scent.
this has increased the number of coyotes we get.
yes, they are killing our fawns, bigtime.
so are bears.
