Default RE: 2008 Canadian Whitetails

Hey all, for some odd reason I haven't been able to long on this site for over a week until now! Congrats to all who have notched tags...very nice.

JD to bad but don't give up yet. Try some new territory/ I know a fresh backdrop brings back my vigor. In fact instead of hunting last saturday i traded my gun for binos and walking boots. Not all was good but I manged to find new area that I am hoping will pan out as my regular hauntwasn't cutting it. I'm itching to get out now, when beforeI really wasn't.

AG, mulie hunters here saying the same thing. Weather is being suggested as the culprit. However I am of the belief rut happens and the weather plays intothe amount of daytime activity we hunter see, that's all. Does determine when the rut is, how intense/long, etcnot the weatherman. I've long said "the rut" is either feast or famine. Live by it and die by it.I just hunt whenI can, let the chips falland try to adapt.

2" of snow today and so far it's staying. Calling for more over the next few days. day time temps are forecast in the - single digits and lows at night into the - double digits. Looking and feeling more like November in sask. WT Rut is in swing here. Courting and babysitting now but will be peak any day know. I managed to get in a few hours tonight and unfortunately the wind wasn't perfect for where i wanted to set up so I went to plan C and managed to rattle in a dink, followed by a decent 5x4 who sported a kicker off his g2 on the left side. If all goes to plan I will slip out for another evening hunt on friday and give her saturday. Here's hoping!!

Best of luck all
