You grazed the animal very lowin his winter fat reserves. This shot does not hurt them. I'd still look to be sure but these shots are what I refer to as training shots as you just trainied thatdeer to avoid bow hunters in the future ;-)
If someone shot me in my winter fat reserve it would hurt like the heck i believe
