Thanks guys... yes i actually have a Ruger Frontier rifle in 308 and i like it but the muzzle blast on that gun with the 16.5" barrel is deafening. i love the handiness of it. but by coopers scout standards the max barrel length is about 20". also im kinda biased against the 7mm, i know its a good bullet and everything but ive just never caught on to that bullet. i did consider a 270 wsm in the model 7 but ive had feeding problems in the past with short magnums. but i really like the idea of a 270 bullet in a short action cartridge. i really love the 270 bullet. and with 6.8 spc, it sounds like a good cartridge but it wont shoot the heavier bullets fast enough.
