I can definitely see your thought process. I have had deer less scared from a missed shot than from seeing me let down. You did what you felt is right, and that is ok by me. Like the others said, maybe just a dulled broadhead is what it cost you. Who cares if people get on you, you are not an idiot and the move sounds pretty smart.
