Just thought I would share a picture of my 2003 black bear. I shot this bear at 11:30pm on the 31st of May. It' s a 5&1/2 foot dry sow with a 17" skull and a 2" layer of fat nearly all the way around. I shot her the last night of the hunt, pretty much at the last minute. I have more pictures on my webshots account at

I have also made an album with pictures from the breakfast in Maryland with a few of the board members, so check that out as well. The pictures are on page 2 of my photo albums home page.
Almost forgot the details...
Shot at 14 yards from a tree stand with my Mathews Q2XL set at 65 pounds. I used a Beman ICS 340 tipped with a 125 grain shockwave. The arrow went straight through a rib on the way in and went into the shoulderblade on the far side, but did not penetrate through. The head opened up perfectly, and is in very good shape still. The bear ran less than 15 yards, piled up and started the death moan. She was dead in less than 5 seconds, and still in sight, about 8 yards from my stand.
