Hawgz, I can help you with that one, as I was pretty disgruntled when the rule came out.
Apparantly, there is a bino manufacturer, I never did find out which one, that made a model of 10x binos that had a focus knob that you could turn 2 or 3 full revolutions worth of of adjustment. Any pair of binos I ever owned, the focus knob moves less than 1/2 revolution from one end to the other.
I could see where a focus knob with that much travel might be capable of being used as a crude rangefinder.
I wish the IBO would have just outlawed that particular brand of binos, instead of making me buy another set that I will never use anywhere but an IBO shoot.
But hey, it is a small price to pay for having fun!
