Have you checked out the link I gave you or looked in the trail camera forum? There are folks who do this pretty much as a hobby that post there. Many of them have built their own cameras at one time or another. You can also see the problems that a bunch of folks are having with the D40. I just sent my I40 back to Moultrie to get the LCD fixed and this seems like it is a very common problem with the Moultries.
I don't have a dog in this fight, I've just been trying to lead you in the right direction so you won't waste $100 on a mediocre camera that won't do what you want it to. There are lots of folks on

the thing is i dont have 2 nickels to rub togerther. im 16 and cant get job till summer becasueim too busy and i dont think my parents are too keen on spending 20 dollars on a trailcam for me for christmas. but illl check it out.
so what trailcam models would you reccommend?
