Take a good look at your materials and try to find things to make it weigh less.

For less than 20 bucks - actually 19.95 - Avery makes a fold up 12 to 16 ft rag type blind with built in ground stakes and comes in a variety of Camo paterns.

But you sound as if your mid is made up. My advice is to look at it from both the Pro and Con and then construct to make it suit you. This is how we learn albeit somewhat slower at anmy age!
