Default RE: leasing land

$300 for a couple hundred acres, what are you nuts. GO FOR IT, if its decent like your brother says. Why? Well let me tell you why. Leasing privates lands in NY has become very popular. Most leases cover the costs of land taxes for the property. Land taxes are pretty high compared to alot of other states. Just as an example myself, father, and my 2 brothers lease a 75acre junk. Its considered quite reasonable size in NY. We built a camp on it w/ owners permission. I alone myself pay $260 a yr, so you do the math x4. Now tell me that doesn' t sound like alot! But considering the other option to buying a piece of similar size, and still paying the high taxes, its quite cost effective. Our bonus is its surrounded by 1,000 acres of state public land which see' s very little pressure during archery season. Which is the main reason we leased this land. We all love to bowhunt, and I' m there every wknd, plus time-off allowed during the week during archery season to bowhunt. So if you have a chance on a couple hundred acres for $300 I' d highly consider it!!!!!!!
