Default RE: I have my own huge food plot!!

Rack,

Sorghum is very for up-land birds, which would explain why they planted it. It is also very good for turkey, if you are into turkey hunting. I' ll be next spring, that is gonna be one major strutting and pecking area for gobblers. Deer will also consure sorghum but its mainly used for birds. Migratory birds will also use the food plot.

I can' t find any info on nutrient levels, but, that is a VERY large food plot, and, when there was nothing there before, it will surely help out. I believe that I heard that it was very high in nutrients but wasn' t very pallatable for deer, but, I could be wrong on that. If they are eating it in your area, I would say that you are going to be in for some AWSOME hunting this fall. Every bit of food helps and that is enough food to draw deer from miles.

P.S. Today, I finally was able to plant one of my plots. I planted turnips and rape seed in a funnel of woods on my property. The woods are very open and it sees alot of deer activity in the fall due to acorns dropping. I had it all preped and ready to plant, I just had to wait for a good day (too much rain), and, today was the day. Hopefully in the next month or so it will be all grown up and being hit hard by deer
