I harvested this nice Iowa whitetail today at 7:00. He came in chasing a doe hard. After a little sweet talking with 'the can' I got him to break away and come in. I came within 15 yards broadside, but couldn't get him to stop. Finally stopped him at 17 quatering away hard. Rested my pin on his shoulder and let it fly. Made a good hit, but because it was high (20+ feet in a treestand shooting 17 yards) he didn't blead a lot. Backed out for a couple hours, then started the search. Drop by drop I was lead to him. He went about 300 yards total. He's a big bodied deer, his neck was 29".He isa main frame eight, with 2 (or 3 questionable) kickers, 17" inside, and a lot of mass. I'm not sure what he will score....but at this point, I don't care as I am very tickeled with him.
