There are few inherently inaccurate cartridges out there. Most out-shoot the nut behind the butt.

The 300WM is about as accurate as they come...for those who don't flinch at the recoil. The 308 is NOT a long range round. It is good for people who shoot a lot at modest distances and are concerned about barrel life.

FWIW I just shot an elk at 683 yds with a 300WM, it hammered him. I would not have shot that big of an animal at that range with a 308.
