In my farm hand experience, milo, or grain sorgum here in Nebraska dosen' t get much activity from deer. Birds,,,,, YES!!! Deer,,,, not that I' ve seen in 31 years of hunting them. In a different state like your own it may attract them some but milo has a bitter tast to it IMO. I live on a small farm and watch deer LOTS from my dining room window and what I' ve seen, they like weeds or forbs. Deer don' t seem to want to stay anywhere very long and gorge themselves on anything but soybeans in my area. Mostly they are samplers and allways on the move. Milo will fall very easily if snowed on and it goes down flat with a wet snow. Wheat IMO is the best mid to late season attractant for deer in states where snow is possible in mid October.
