a.243 has been my caliber of choice for the last ten years, i just like its versatility. flat shooting, accurate, and plenty big enough for any whitetail. shot placement is a lot more important than caliber size anyway. i have been looking at a 25-06 though, but i'm not sure there's enough difference in the two calibers to justify buying one.
