Theres no room for error using any caliber, period. People keep saying this and new hunters will think if they get a big gun they can just aim at brown.
Just this weekend at 2 different deer camps all friends of mine, one rookie hit a deer in the gut with a .270, my friend had to help track and was just apauled by what he witnessed, a deer that kept being pushed with it guts strung out all on the ground and getting tangled on limbs and being yanked out.
It was finally put out of its misery. Another friend personally made a bad shot on a deer with a .308, again guts were strung out, deer was pushed onto neigboring property where they were denied acces to to try and recover. This deer was quartering too and no matter what he says he did, I guarantee he aimed behind the shoulder, which is a gut shot on a quartering too deer.
Please people, quit saying room for error, theres no room for error with any caliber you choose.
