It is a low knap fabric, very quiet and I haven' t had any durability problems with mine. No briars here though. Spent ten days in Alaska with it on every day and there was a lot of low shrub type bushes and the pants held up fine. Barbed wire will cause a slight durability issue though. [:' (]
