I have been hunting for about 4 years now and have taken deer during gun season but yeaterday morning had a totall differant feel to it. I saw about 8 deer yesterday morning three of them were being chased by a coyote only stopping long enough for me to range the smaller of the three (44 yrds) then they walked off. shortly after that I had another doe come in straight behind my stand and as I turned to see what the sound was we made eye contact and she snorted hit the ground and was gone. Then I noticed three more does coming from a totally unexpected area and I had zero cover on that side to hide any kind of movement. They were in between were I had range that doe earlier and 20 yrds. I knew this from doing some ranging at first light. I waited for them to get a little closer somewhere in between 20 and 44 yrds then I drew my 65 lbs general to full draw and waited for them to get closer as soon as I thought they would they started to veer away so I new I had to make a decision not to mention my arms were starting to get tired. Now I practice at 20 yards and occasionally move out to 30 so I madea judgement onher range used my 30 yrd pin a little high andbecause she was quartering towards me a bit Iaimedin front of her right shoulderand let the arrow fly......... SMACK!!!!!!Double lung .......sheran about 40 yards andwent down.I hit her at 35 yrds I was very confident and sure of the shot but when I saw that red glow of my nock v-line for the exact area I aimedI knew at that point it was agreat shot.
