RE: something i can plant now, for the winter?
When they pick the peanuts I would dump some in a grain wagon and use them to "sweeten up the field" a time or two during the week. I guarantee you could pay for a thousand pounds of peanuts and have a better food source than trying to buy seed and fertilizer to plant a plot......An even cheaper route would be if you know somebody at the mill that would help you get the cull/split peanuts to use.
