Default RE: Shot one tonight.....

I just have a rain comment.
Hunting in a down pour, or just before an impending hard rain is rolling the dice. Even a GOOD hit can run 80-100 yds or more. Your average Joe bowhunter can barely find a deer WITH a blood trail, and we all know those odds go down dramatically without one. Sometimes you get lucky & the deer goes down in sight, sometimes it doesn’t. Then you have to get lucky and stumble across it, or wind up with a lost deer. Each person must weigh those odds against how much time they have to spend afield and how well they think they can make a shot that downs the deer within sight or an easy find. If its not the last few days of the season & I have time, I’ll skip out during a hard rain. Crunch time, I’ll roll the dice and sit thru a monsoon. It’s all about risking the odds.
