Default RE: anybody shoot the winchester platinum tip bullet?

ORIGINAL: outdoorsmen

how do they do? i like the design but never shot them in a muzzleloader. i shoot them in my .44 and .454.
No I have not, but from reading some articles on them by Craig Boddington they are an excellent premiuum bullet, great penetration and expansion. I would be very interested in the accuracy you get with them in your MLer. I believe they would be awsome on game. I shoot Barnes 45/70 bullets in my Savage using a .452 Black Crushed Rib sabot, now these are .458 diameter, so myfeeling is that they will work excellent with the .454 bullets, especially with 777 or Pyrodex. I have shot .452 Gold Dots and XTPs and .451 Nosler Partitions with BCR sabot and 777 in my Omega fora few years and they were excellent in accuracy. So givethe BCR with the .454 bulletsa try and let us know your results, the BCRare the mostversitle sabot on diameter of bullet working from .451 all the way to .458 diameter bullets.
