I think these types of situations have far to many variables to accurately assume one thing or another. I am of the opinion that anything is possible, he might have got freaked right out and wont think about frequenting that area again for the rest of the season. However, he could be standing under your stand right this moment wondering why your not there to shoot him. If i can guess, id say what happened is not detrimental to your chances.
