It doesn't have to be top of the line but I want good quality and a reliable reputable name. Price range is 2 to 3 hundred. It has to be compact, light gathering, fog resistent, and durable. Other features that I should be looking for please let me know.

I'm not sure if I should get a variable power or not and in fact, I don't know what magnification would be good for whitetail glassing up to 3 or 4 hundred yards.
