Well, got my first deer of the season on the 25th. Got into my stand around 6:30, and could see 2 deer down at the end of one of my shooting lanes, but couldn't see enough to make a shot, it being still semi dark. Saw another doe around 7:30 and this deer is living a charmed life. No matter which way she moved, she always managed to have her vitals behind the legs of my feeder. I saw a buck walk through about an hour later, but he moved through so quick, no time to get a shot. Then this doe walks out coming right at me down my lane, then walks into the brush. So, I kept the scope on that lane and about a minute later, she walked back out, and gave me a quarter away shot. I pulled the trigger on my .30-06, looked up, and she was gone. Started tracking her and only found a piece of bloody tissue at the spot where I shot her. So, I started walking in circles around it and picked up a couple flecks of blood, circled some more but only found 2 more spots. However, at the last spot of blood, I stopped and looked around and saw her piled up in the brush, with a large amount of blood and tissue on the ground. First deer and hopefully not the last of the year!
