RE: personal experiences: Hornady interbond bullet
tx I think I responded to an earlier post regarding this. I would just add that I also tried the Hi Energy Partitions but they did not shoot well in my rifle. (2 1/2"vs 1" for the interbond) We killed 3 elk with the 165 interbonds 2 years ago. Three were pass thrus with impressive exit wounds and the two recovered bullets broke both front shoulders and weighted 137.5 and 156 grains with large near perfect mushrooms. My only reservation about using them on elk is if your rifle will shoot them.
Another factor to consider is the elevation you are hunting at. The interbonds .447 BC will not be much of a drawback at the higher elevation that most elk hunting occurs. It is a solid round out to 400 yards. The chart below is based on my chrony velocity of 2955fps and 9000 foot elevationthe elevationI hunt and a 250 yard zero range.

This outperforms most if not every 7mm rem mag factoryload. It is also approx $29.00 per box compared to $44.00 for the high energy loads.
